Code of Conduct

⚠ Note: These rules may be updated at any time. By using C&C:Online services, players agree to comply with the latest version of this Code of Conduct.

Important notices, rule changes, and service announcements may be communicated through the launcher, website, Discord server, forum posts, or in-game Message of the Day (MOTD).

Failure to read updated rules does not exempt users from enforcement actions.

By connecting to and utilizing C&C:Online services, you agree to abide by the rules outlined below. Violations may result in warnings, chat restrictions, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans depending on severity and frequency.

Community Standards

C&C:Online exists to provide a fair, stable, and welcoming environment for all players across supported Command & Conquer games.

Users are expected to behave respectfully toward other players, staff members, tournament organizers, and community contributors.

The following behavior is prohibited across all official C&C:Online platforms and services.

Zero Tolerance for Racism & Hate Speech

No racism, hate speech, or discriminatory behavior

Racism, ethnic slurs, hate speech, harassment, or targeted attacks against individuals or groups based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics are strictly prohibited.

Severe violations may result in immediate permanent bans without warning.

No extremist or violent content

Promotion of extremist ideologies, terrorism, violent threats, or encouragement of self-harm is strictly forbidden.

Political & Inflammatory Content

No political provocations or inflammatory discussions

C&C:Online is not a platform for political campaigning, propaganda, or ideological conflicts.

Political arguments, inflammatory discussions, deliberate provocation, or attempts to create hostility within the community may be removed and can result in penalties for repeat offenders.

Chat & Lobby Conduct

No spamming or flooding

Repeated messages, excessive symbols, advertisements, disruptive copy-pasting, or intentionally flooding chat channels is prohibited.

No harassment or targeted abuse

Personal attacks, sustained harassment, stalking behavior, doxxing attempts, or intentionally hostile conduct toward other players or staff members is not permitted.

No disruptive behavior

Excessive trolling, baiting, impersonation, or intentionally derailing public discussions may result in moderation action.

Language and mature content

Excessive vulgarity, sexually explicit content, or inappropriate usernames may be restricted or removed at staff discretion.

Fair Play & Gameplay Rules

No cheating or unauthorized modifications

The use of cheats, hacks, trainers, memory editing tools, automation tools, exploits, modified game files, or any unauthorized software providing unfair advantages is strictly prohibited.

Penalties for cheating may include permanent account and network bans.

No exploiting bugs or service vulnerabilities

Abusing game bugs, matchmaking flaws, synchronization exploits, disconnect manipulation, stat manipulation, or vulnerabilities in C&C:Online infrastructure is prohibited.

Users discovering vulnerabilities are encouraged to report them responsibly to staff.

No smurfing for abuse or ban evasion

Creating alternate accounts to evade punishments, manipulate matchmaking, harass players, or bypass restrictions is prohibited.

No account sharing or impersonation

Users are responsible for activity conducted through their accounts. Sharing accounts, impersonating other players or staff members, or attempting to mislead users about identity may result in penalties.

Match Behavior

No intentional match disruption

Repeatedly joining and immediately leaving games, intentionally disconnecting, refusing to participate, or deliberately sabotaging matches is prohibited.

Respect lobby hosts and players

Players should follow lobby settings, ready-up requests, and reasonable host instructions in a timely manner to avoid disrupting games for others.

Play fairly and competitively

Unsportsmanlike conduct intended solely to ruin the experience of other players may result in moderation action.

Attacks Against the Service

No attacks on C&C:Online infrastructure

Any attempt to attack, disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, exploit, or interfere with C&C:Online services or infrastructure is strictly prohibited.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • DDoS attacks
  • Network flooding
  • Service exploitation
  • Unauthorized access attempts
  • Packet manipulation
  • Infrastructure scanning
  • Credential attacks
  • Malicious automation

Violations will result in permanent bans and may be escalated to hosting providers or relevant authorities where appropriate.

Staff & Enforcement

Respect staff decisions

Users are expected to follow reasonable instructions provided by moderators, administrators, tournament officials, and support staff.

Disagreements should be handled respectfully through appropriate appeal or support channels.

Enforcement discretion

Not all prohibited behavior can be listed explicitly within this document. Staff reserve the right to take action against behavior deemed harmful to the community, service stability, or fair play environment.

Evidence and investigations

Moderation decisions may be based on chat logs, gameplay data, connection records, screenshots, videos, reports, or other relevant evidence.

False reports or intentionally misleading staff may result in penalties.

Penalties

Violations may result in one or more of the following actions depending on severity and prior history:

  • Verbal warnings
  • Chat restrictions
  • Matchmaking restrictions
  • Temporary suspensions
  • Account resets
  • Permanent account bans
  • Network or service bans

Repeat offenders will generally face escalating penalties.

Severe violations, including cheating, racism, infrastructure attacks, ban evasion, or targeted harassment, may result in immediate permanent bans without prior warning.

Staff actions are subject to internal review and oversight to help ensure fairness and consistency in enforcement.

C&C:Online is a community-driven service operated by volunteers and contributors working to preserve and support classic Command & Conquer multiplayer experiences.

Users are expected to contribute positively toward maintaining a respectful, fair, and enjoyable environment for the broader community.
